Overview: Derick always knew he wanted to be a performer. At the age of nine he started his singing career, first in public school, then in high school. While in High School his grandfather taught him how to play the guitar. Now he was a singer and a musician. He went on to study acting and theatre in college, along with visual arts and dancing. True to his Spanish, Mexican, and African heritage, his talents are just as eclectic as his cultural background. Born a twin in 1981, Derick took most of the creative genes from the gene pool and was born into the world with diverse talents. He also took the gene pool of good looks.
