Overview: Shannon Dyer was raised in the small town of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. After graduating from Monroe County High School in 1997, Dyer moved to Nashville, TN, to pursue his lifelong dream in the heart of the country music industry. Being underage made it difficult for Dyer to get into bars to sing, but he was finally given an opportunity while working as a desk clerk at the Quality Inn Hotel. It was there that he made friends with the owners, Ted and Tom Lagarde, known as the Lagarde twins. Recognizing his talent, the Lagarde twins gave Dyer the chance to perform at the Quality Inn Hall of Fame Lounge. He pulled double duty for the hotel working the front desk during the day and entertaining in the lounge at night. After a year of refining his act at the hotel, Dyer ventured into downtown Nashville and started performing at The Carousel and Lonnie's. Then his life took a turn toward the military.
Dyer enlisted in the United States Army and gave five years of Active Duty in support of our nation as a Military
