Singer/songwriter Tom Spingler has been writing and recording songs for over 30 years. Northfield was formed when he teamed up with engineer/producer Bob Both (of James Brown fame) and producer/publisher Dan Maxcy to record some of his more country influenced songs. After recording had began with Tom handling acoustic guitar and vocals, Bob Both on bass and Joe Vitello on drums, Dan suggested that they form a band to perform the material in live shows. Bob Van Dyke, whom had performed and recorded with Tom and Bob Both in bands before, was called on to handle keyboards and vocals. Guitarist Kevin Kelley, a long time friend of Dan Maxcys' was added lead guitar and backing vocals. With the lineup complete, they recorded the four song CD "Nashville In My Heart" to release for the NJ Country Music Expo. "Nashville In My Heart" was chosen by the NJ country Music Association as the Expo theme song. The band started playing shows in NJ and NYC, They recorded 5 more songs that were to be added to the “Nashville’ CD to make a complete album. That album is not yet released. The songs are available as MP3 downloads. Visit their website for more info, CD’s , T-Shirts and downloads.
