  BIOGRAPHY
Jenny Leigh Freeman’s sound is an electric combination of the singer’s city girl lifestyle and country girl background, and her songs are fused with hints of soul, funk, and pop. Inspired by relationships, ups and downs, and lessons learned along the way, her original heart-felt lyrics paired with her unforgettable voice ring clear and true.

After releasing her 4-track demo in 2009, her song “Set Me Free” fell into regular rotation almost instantly on Washington DC’s WMZQ 98.7 and Baltimore’s WPOC 93.1 radio. She was featured as Artist of the Month on WPOC 93.1 last November, and the station sponsored a live performance during their Charm City Country Show. Here Jenny and her band debuted five of her originals: “Crossroads,” “Meant for So Much More,” “Break-Up Song,” “Jealousy,” and “Set Me Free.”

Over the years, Jenny has performed in a variety of venues solo, duo, and with her full band, earning a loyal East Coast following. She’s opened for national country acts like The Eli Young Band and American Idol star Josh Gracin, and her band regularly plays at both the world-renowned Preakness and the Baltimore Marathon.

Jenny’s proudest accomplishment to date is the music video for her single “Crossroads.” Produced by Brian Stansfield and Wandering Hat productions in DC, it captures the fiery heart and soul of this liberating song. The video was recorded at Cue Studios in DC as part of Jenny’s brand-new EP Falling Forward under platinum producer Jim Ebert. Falling Forward also includes the track “Break Free,” co-written with Mark Bryan of Hootie in the Blowfish.

Artistically, Jenny draws inspiration from a wide variety of female performers: Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride vocally, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift lyrically, Sheryl Crow musically, and Paramore and Rihanna for a little pop and hip-hop flair.

As a musician, Jenny’s goal is simple: to move people through music. “There’s no feeling that compares to hearing a song, letting it in, letting go, and dancing with no reservations!” says Jenny. “That’s a gift that I want to give music lovers everywhere.”
