Overview: Pop Latin Urban artist G-Anthony's nickname "The Champ" is very fitting, considering he's the winner of the MTV Tr3s Viva Chicago local band search. The Santurce, Puerto Rico native began his music career by singing at 12-years-old, and graduated to bigger performances with bachata, merengue and salsa bands. However, he found that reggaeton was his true passion, partly fueled by his participation in an urban duo called "Doble XX." G-Anthony's explosive lyrics, music and hip-hop moves helped him win Viva Chicago over the 120 other bands that entered. He did the opening act for huge headliners -- Cruz Martínez y Los Súper Reyes -- at the latin music festival. This won't be the first time G-Anthony performs to huge numbers, though. He's performed in Chi-town's Puerto Rican Day Festival, at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom, and was part of the Latina Magazine national music tour. Stay tuned for more information on his up coming album called "OPEN" don't go no where!
