Based in Minneapolis the four members of indie-rock band The Drive Back (Grady, Craig, Jon,Troy) have known each other collectively for 11 years, and been a band for eight. Melding together the histories of six different bands, The Drive Back’s chemistry is evident when you meet them, or see them live. Flush with brilliant melodies and awe-inspiring lyrics, The Drive Back’s infectious sound can be attributed to the eclectic influences of Jimmy Eat World, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, and Nickel Creek. With all the influences, however, music has always sounded a little differently to lead singer Craig Casey. Craig, who writes most of the band’s songs/music, is deaf in one ear. Raised by deaf parents, Craig didn’t discover he could sing until he was 18, yet profoundly leads the band’s melody lines. Taking nothing for granted The drive back treats each song as a privilege.
