|A Suit Of Lights|
|The Memory of Water|
Established through a mega-decibel, two-guitar onslaught and winning a New Music Monday at Vino's Brewpub in Little Rock, AR, the band traveled to Memphis, TN to participate in the Crossroads Music Festival where they were featured on the Good Morning, Memphis show. Playing gigs regionally the band honed their songwriting and released their debut LIGHTS OUT, CAIRO, recorded at Poynter's Palace, in 1999.
In 2003, refreshed, experienced, and reunited, Underclaire began working on tracks for a second album. By February 2004, Underclaire had enlisted Barry Poynter once again To launch them into the sessions for their sophomore release: SMALLTOWN X. The band had matured and this album proved it by embracing the less-is-more position. However, the tracks on Smalltown X still stake a claim in guitar-band territory while teetering on the verge of a new-wave-minimalist approach.
After spending the better part of 2009 in the studio, Underclaire released Making Sky on January 1st 2010. As with Lights Out, Cairo and Smalltown X, this 3rd full-length album was recorded at Poynter's Palace with Barry Poynter (The Juliana Theory, Living Sacrifice, Ho-Hum, South Park, HBO, etc).
During these sessions, Poynter took on the task of writing and playing the bass guitar lines in addition to his usual Engineer/Producer duties. Making Sky is a concept album that is lush, layered and polished (in comparison with the indie-rockish, stripped, and minimal-overdub arrangement of 2004 Smalltown X). It is the tale of fraternal twins--a brother and sister whose lives and luck take a turn for the worst. The cover art was provided by Canadian artist, Socar Myles (www.gorblimey.com).
