Overview: I was born in Modesto CA in 1972 to parents who loved music raised me watching their "garage band" rock out on the weekends. My experience started at the age of 6 when I took 2 years of piano lessons. That was followed by a new instrument every year with the school band until finally getting a semester of folk guitar in the 7th grade. I've been a writer all of my life which started out just poetry and later used that hobby for writing lyrics that fit with whatever I was strummin' that day. Through my rough teenage years I have used my music as hiding place that belonged to only me. Now as an adult, I want to share my life with whoever is willing to listen to it. (smile) Unlike the days as a teenager, I'm not looking for rock star status, I just want to be heard and I want to play. Rather than looking for the "All About Me" section, listen to my music and you will know who Kirsten Tenay is. I'm just a girl from Modesto with a Woman's story to tell. Will you give me a shot?
