Brian Michael Diaz, artistically known as Brian Michael, was born in Waukegan, Illinois on the 5th of May, to parents of Puerto Rican descent. At a very young age Brian demonstrated the passion and desire to become a singer. While in High School he participated in the Festival De La Voz, a competition that ran throughout all of Ciales, PR. He won first place and was able to represent his city on a national level. He gained recognition and was invited to perform on the national show Voces En Funcion, hosted by singer Loubriel back in 1998. Brian continued his studies at the University Of Puerto Rico, Arecibo where he was offered a scholarship through their prestigious choir program. Brian performed locally and nationally with the chorus, allowing him to further demonstrate his talents as a vocal performer.
In 1998 Radio Borinquen, Manati, PR had Brian sing live on their show which opened the door for him to perform in many other events. Brian had platform opportunities on Objetivo Fama, Gigantes Del Manana and Chicago Idol. Following his career, Radio Borinquen invited Brian back for an interview and also played a song he composed named “Gracias “, this allowed Brian to also demonstrate his skills as a music writer. In 2004 Brian also had the great opportunity to begin performing with the amazingly talented Soprano and Opera singer Lisa Di Salvo. Lisa and Brian continued to perform for several years at different venues.
In 2008 Brian met the legendary Isidro Infante and shortly after they began working on his self titled debut album. The album was produced and musically directed by Isidro Infante and Brian is currently promoting the single “En El Nombre Del Amor”. His song is being played on www.hardsalsa.com and it is currently being played live from Miami, New York, Tampa, Chicago, Southfield, Philadelphia, Peru, Canada and Europe.
Brian is currently working with Isidro Infante to promote his recently completed album in various venues across the country.
