Overview: Jen's Papaw constantly had the traditional country music blaring. Songs such as Jeannie C. Riley’s “Harper Valley PTA”, and Ernest Tubb’s “Walking the Floor Over You”, as well as tunes from Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Johnny Cash became the soundtrack to her early years. After pretty much teaching herself guitar, and discovering the somewhat ease of writing lyrics, she decided to attend college East Tennessee State University as a student of the Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time Music Program. Jennifer was educated by some of the best bluegrass pickers in the world, and worked at a local record store that introduced her to the likes of Dishwalla and Kasey Chambers who have become two of her greatest influences. Since bringing all of that knowledge back north, Jennifer has recorded her debut album "Should've Been a Weather Girl" at Mill Creek Studio in Arnold, MD and has released it independently. You can find her out and about with her band performing in the area.
