  BIOGRAPHY
Following the legacy of the Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Fugazi, RedAlert is a newly formed punk/pop-punk band hailing from the DC Metro area. However, they do not sound like a band off Dischord Records. Growing up in the mid-90s, RedAlert crafted a melodic catchy sound reminiscent of bands in that era such as Green Day, The Offspring, and Pennywise. However, they retain the spirit, message, attitude, and D.I.Y. ethic of early punk rock and hardcore.

RedAlert's debut album, State of Washington D.C. (May 2010), contains commentary on the current state of the Washington DC music scene, political scene, and social life. Songs range from the party pop-punk tune "Drunk on the Metro" to the political/social anthem "United We Fall," a song about gentrification in D.C. neighborhoods.
