Eddie Brooks was born in North Carolina but grew up in Richmond, Virginia. After a checkered academic career he quit college, drove a delivery truck during the day and taught himself harmonica and guitar. Eddie married, moved to Maryland and made a name for himself as a solo singer/ guitarist, playing venues ranging from places with busted-out windows to Fell's Point to the Kennedy Center.

Along the way he has toured the college circuit in five states, led contemporary Christian praise bands and choirs and fronted a surf-guitar band, “The Del Marvas.” He was a street performer at Baltimore's inner harbor for over ten years and even used to back an Elvis impersonator! The checkered career continues...

His currently works as a private guitar and music teacher and performs as the male half of the acoustic country duo NICKEL-PLATED ANGEL.
