E Pluribus Unum

Overview: "E Pluribus Unum" means "From many, one". A group of volunteers got together to honor the USS New Mexico, the latest fast attack submarine commissioned by the US Navy in March of 2010. The goal was to create a pro-America, pro-Navy message of support for this submarine and for the men who serve upon her. The end result is a mosaic of sound, just as New Mexico is a mosaic of culture. Dozens of people contributed music or spoken word to this song, which features contributions in English, Spanish, Navajo, and Zuni. The Cochiti Pueblo was represented by one of its drums. A total of fifty-four tracks, both instrumental and vocal, were recorded and mixed at Eagle Rock Studios. The extended Navajo spoken word track is a rendition of the Pledge of Allegiance. This project is proof of the American spirit and cooperation. When people are willing to work together to transcend the barriers of age, ethnicity, religion, and politics, anything is possible.
