Overview: Clennis High is an old school guitarist/vocalist from Houston's 5th ward. He is the original guitarist for the old Houston group Archie Bell and the Drells. He has shared the stage with so many (i.e. Joe TX, Roy Head, Gene Chandler, Betty Wright,etc.) that he seems to have taken the best fron all and created a whole other style. He plays a style of stinging guitar that is often referred to as smooth jazz...in the old days it was just called Smoooth. Todate, Clennis has a single in the top 20 on Australian independent jazz radio. Simply put, it is very difficult to place this man's style of deliver in any one corner....He plays what he feels...he feels what he plays and the music continues!
