At an early age, singer/songwriter JR Woods remembered watching his dad play the guitar and singing Elvis songs and old gospel hymns; however, Woods's parents could not get him to pursue music. It wasn't until he was in college that he started showing a real interest in the guitar which led his parents to give him a guitar for his 18th birthday. It was then that Woods prayed for God to give him the gift of music. As soon as he could switch the chords fast enough to create a decent sound, Woods was writing songs. He played in several Christian rock bands, and then decided to pursue country music, feeling that country music best suited his voice. After marriage, he put his music on the back burner to start a family. He is now blessed with two beautiful children and is back to pursuing his dream of music with his album, "Let the River Wind."
