Overview: In My Right Mind is a contemporary folk collection of new and familiar tunes celebrating the human spirit. Early colonial American immigrants brought with them their stories and music, dances and art. We are all immigrants and the self-penned stories highlight the hopes and dreams for a new chance, and a fresh start. The acoustic instrumentation was carefully chosen to highlight the historical time period for each song. From the banjo of the African Americans, to the pipes, whistles and percussion of Celtic music of the British Isles to the horns, accordion and fiddle of the French cafés, the music represents a few of the cultures that have contributed to what has become “American” music today. In My Right Mind is a musical journey that invites us to discover the creative spirit in each of us and find joy in our passions and dreams.
