Bio: Sam started seriously playing music at age 14. The songs written and performed by Sam represent an eclectic mix played on the guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Sam is influenced by a variety of musical styles such as folk-rock, pop, reggae, blues, Hawaiian, slack key, alt-rock, and bluegrass. Many of the tunes have an island-folk flavor inspired by the ocean, sun, and stars. Some of the musical influences include Brett Dennen, Van Morrison, David Grey, Jim Croce, Pearl Jam, Amos Lee, Tracy Chapman, IZ, Willie Nelson, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Jack Johnson, Gregg Smith, DC Fisher, and Matt Kay.
