Overview: Born March 1989, Slim is the product of a single-family home. His mother did what she could to raise him right but there was only so much she could show and teach him. Nonetheless, he respectfully appreciated all she did for him. Although he didn’t have to he hit the streets on his quest to learn how to ‘be a man’. Armed with a modest education he embarked on his journey. Being in the streets taught many lessons most of which were hard. Slim now gives thanks to God for the fact that he is still alive and free. Run-in after run-in with the authorities over several years, he realized that he was on his way to becoming just another statistic just like his father and many of his ‘homies’ who were either strung out on drugs, in prison or dead. He realized this lifestyle wasn’t the answer. There had to be a better way.
