Overview: Born in San Antonio, raised on the high plains of West Texas, MonsterKat recording artist Randell Beck is a renaissance man. "I listened a lot as a kid. Fell in love with the sound of guitar. And I remember listening to Willie and Waylon, Buck and Merle, the Eagles, Poco, and just feeling the emotion of great songs. Even then, I got it," says Beck. As an accomplished country singer and guitarist, he is also comfortable with tools, instruments, spreadsheets, and computers. He can whip a honky-tonk crowd into a frenzy, renovate a house single-handedly, and install his own complete recording studio from the wiring out. Currently recording and performing both as a solo acoustic singer and as leader of Silvertrain, Randell has performed in bands and solo since high school. He has filled the lead guitar chair for jazz bands, and has performed with Country Caravan (SPC), members of Sixpence None the Richer, One Bad Pig, and the Nation.
