Overview: Kitten Berry Crunch made alot more sense of a name when Shaun Hettinger started this 80’s-loving synth-pop band with his cat Nico in Los Angeles. Then he lost the cat in a custody battle & moved to Brooklyn, but at least he kept the stellar band name. Now a 5-person live synth-pop band, Kitten Berry Crunch has played alongside Vito from THE RAPTURE & just finished up mixing their “Dreams EP” with ERIC BROUCEK (DFA Records, Franz Ferdinand, !!!, Cold Cave, Holy Ghost!). Look for it for iTunes on April 17th! Their original chillwave/synth-pop songs have popped up major blogs like THEBURNINGEAR.COM & they’ve remixed tracks by artists like WILCO, PENGUIN PRISON, and FRANZ FERDINAND. Equally of note are their hilarious blog-worthy music videos - like last summer’s viral hit “When This Is Over”, which featured real cats playing instruments - and their brand new “Dead Kitten Dance Party!” currently buzzing on blogs like NICKYDIGITAL.COM & IGUESSIMFLOATING.NET.
