Intense, Diverse, Powerful, and Entertaining are just some words that describe Blindside Thunder (BST). This hard rock power trio from Rhode Island in southern New England (USA) has its roots in the Midwest. One of the appealing parts of BST is that all members are great lovers of all music. Motown, R&B, Progressive Metal/Rock, Punk, Country, Southern Rock, and the standard American rock and metal are just some of the many influences that help form and shape the bands diverse sound and music.
All the way from Columbus, Ohio, John E Wilde brings the homegrown Midwest hard rock and southern fried side. Growing up on country music John E spread his wings and enjoyed styles from Detroit scene to the Nashville best from 1960 -1976. Around 1977 John E found that rock and Judas Priest, Ozzy and Black Sabbath existed. Other influences in his music was the southern style of Skynerd, Hatchet, Blackfoot, and the over the top playing of Van Halen, Kiss, Nugent and Ozzy.
Dan D’Alessio “Double D”, hails from New England and brings a brash splash of the New York Punk scene and bad boy rock reminiscent of the Ramones and Motley Crue. Dan also enjoys trying to press the limit so that fans can here favorable changes in the music but have a warm feel and a place to let out the aggression from their youth.
The General, Gerry Sayong, hails from the west coast. This San Francisco native is well versed in all heavy rock styles from Pat Boon, Elvis to Five Finger Death Punch. This seasoned pro has catapulted BST and has laid the foundation for the band to compete with the monsters in the rock genre.
BST is a formidable power trio of rock that has harnessed melodic rock and presented it into a truly palatable and devastating package. With “Double D” (Dan D’Alessio, John’s Brother from another Mother) on bass guitar and the “The General” Gerry Sayong on drums the rhythm section destroys any preconceived cliches of standard rock anthems. When modern and contemporary rock music today has a cloud over it BST brings a fresh splash of 1980’s Party Rock and have fun tunes that speak of everyday struggles that we all have. You will find yourself tapping your feet to the intoxicating beats and sing along with the guys on every chorus.
The band’s first official full length release is the ‘The Storm”. Released in May of 2013 The Storm shows the diversity and commitment to fun party rock with a purposeful foundation in musicianship. Though the band had to overcome the loss of its first drummer just prior to the recording session for the Storm, they still showed an amazing maturity from the first EP “The Truth Hurts”, and began to establish a solid vector towards success. In addition to releasing The Storm, BST has an established website dedicated to “The Legion of Thunder” (Fan Club), and “Thunder-Wear (BST Clothing line), located at www.Blindsidethunder.com.
