Overview: In 1997 Dain formed the band Shaking Tree with 3 musicians from the University of Kansas. The band signed with Degy Management in 98 and with Knot Known Records in 2000. Dain was the primary song writer, singer, and guitarist for the group. From 2000 to 2006 Shaking Tree relentlessly toured the country, opened up for several dozen established acts, and had songs placed in movies, T.V shows, and on over 300 radio stations throughout the world. When the band parted ways in late 2006, Dain received hundreds of emails from heart broken fans, many, asking him to release another record. Thus, the recording of "The Broken Whistle Sessions" began in May of 07. The record was mixed, produced, and written by Estes while hiding out in the secluded town of Squires MO through May and June of 07. The record will be released in late september of 07.
