Best. Ever. Seriously one of the best things to come out of my kitchen... ever.

On Black Friday I snagged a cute little 1.5-quart crock pot from Target for 8 bucks! I got it because my 8-quart crock pot is pretty much only useful for GIANT meals and since I only cook for two, the food doesn't always come out quite right. Plus I figured I can use it for dips for parties, and preparing side dishes, like I did last night!

I got the idea to serve mushrooms over arugula from one of my favorite restaurants, Tapas Adelas in Fells Point (they do button mushrooms over arugula with big chunks of goat cheese and its insanely good). But I decided to try out my little crock pot to cook the 'shrooms!

After washing 1 container of white button mushrooms, I let them air dry just a bit before putting them in the pot. I added 2 tablespoons of "butter" (we use the low-cholesterol stuff in my home), about 1 tablespoon (maybe a bit more) of worchestershire sauce, and a heavy sprinkling of spicy McCormick's grillmate seasoning.

I cooked them for about 3 hours on high, then another hour on low. I poured them (and the sauce from the bottom of the pot) over big bowls of arugula and I grated some pecorino cheese on top. I could have eaten 10 bowls of it! Its a perfect winter salad and since it cooks itself it was SO easy!
