This is an amazing story... not only is it going on right here in Baltimore, but now it involves one of our favorite country stars!

Retired Infantryman Brendan Marrocco lost all four limbs while serving in Iraq, when a bomb hit his armored car. The attack was in 2009, and Brendan's been trying to adjust to life without his limbs. Despite losing his arms and legs, Brendan really missed his arms. He said, “Not having arms takes so much away from you. Even your personality, you know. You talk with your hands. You do everything with your hands, and when you don’t have that, you’re kind of lost for a while,” 

Now, at 26 years old, this hero is getting some of his life back! Brendan is here in Baltimore receiving two arm transplants at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In an interview, Brendan recently said that after he shakes his doctors hand, he would like for the next hand shake to be with Blake Shelton. Here's Blake's response:
