A film legend has passed away. Pat Derby trained Lassie and Flipper, as well as other famous TV and film animals.

During her career, Pat founded the Performing Animal Welfare Society, also known as PAWS to protect animals used in film from abuse and neglect.
She passed from throat cancer at just 69 years old.
