Samantha Ford is a mother of two whose boyfriend, Albert DeSimone, is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. Samantha and her children live in Boston.
She has a sticker on the back of her car that says "half of my heart is in Afghanistan" and yesterday, when she came out of her car from Dunkin Donuts, this note and $40.00 was on the windshield:
“I noticed the sticker on the back of your car. Take your hero out to dinner when he comes home. Thank you both for serving. Him deployed and you for waiting.” It was signed “United States veteran” and “God Bless.”
