This may come as a surprise to you, but I didn't always want to be a radio dj. I was super into dinosaurs when I was a kid. I used to go on "dinosaur hunts" with my grandfather through the woods in his backyard. He always playd along, even though the most exotic thing we came across would be some form of hawk.
A scientific team in New Zealand has ruined any hopes I had that an actual Jurassic Park could become a reality. The team discovered that all of the science used in the movie to recreate the ancient beasts simply cannot happen.
The whole movie was based on scientists finding DNA and splicing it together to bring the creatures back to life. Well, the team definitively proved that it's not possible because DNA doesn't last that long. Most DNA has a half-life of 521 years. Considering the last dinosaurs died off about 65 million years ago, it's not looking good for them.
Sorry to go all scientific on you today, but I had to share my disappointment. I would have loved to watch a live T-Rex chomp on a goat, or maybe take a ride on a Stegosaurus. You can read more about the story HERE.
