I feel very blessed that I've been able to work so closely with Susan G. Komen during my time at WPOC. Through Bosom Buddy, Girls With Guitars and the Race For The Cure, I feel very connected to them. That's why I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that race registrations are down so much this year. With fewer registrations comes less funding, and that means fewer Maryland women will be able to receive the help and support that Komen has become known for.
I understand there was a bit of a PR nightmare for the Komen organization earlier in the year, but don't let that stop you from helping our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and friends get the support they need in their battle with breast cancer.
I spoke with Brittany Fowler from Komen MD today about the current situation. You can listen to the interview below.
If you're interested in registering for the Race For The Cure, you can do so RIGHT HERE.
