Country music wasn't what I was brought up on. My first real experience with country music was the first time I walked into the WPOC studios. I've grown to love the genre (most of it anyway), and I've been having a lot of fun learning about the history of Nashville. One thing I have been fascinated by is the Bluebird Cafe. I love the idea of songwriters converging on one place to showcase their songs. The number of songs, and artists, that have gone on to become massive successes just by spending some time at the Bluebird is incredible.
This past weekend, like any other Sunday, two singer songwriters took the stage at the Bluebird. Only this time, those two were Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. The legends made a rare appearance as Willie was being honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. He became the inaugural recipient of the NSAI's new lifetime achievement award, which is named after Kristofferson.

I dug up a couple videos from the night and I wanted to share them with all you classic country fans.
