Los Angeles Times Review

My thoughts: As you can see on the poster above, 21 and Over comes to us from the writers of the Hangover.  If you choose to see it, this will not be a shock to you.  It follows a very similar formula.  Only this time the story is based around two individuals as they surprise their newly 21-year-old friend for a night of drinking and ridiculousness to celebrate his birthday.

21 and Over is filled with extreme drinking, vomit, cursing, racist jokes and nudity.  Personally, I got a good laugh out of it. So much of it is horribly wrong in every way, but you have to take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the humor in the absurdity. I mean, one of the main characters has a teddy bear glued to his "man region" for crying out loud.

Maybe I'm getting older but I do sometimes feel like the things the writers portray as "normal college behavior" paint a very negative picture for the high school kids that this movie was clearly made for.  Are there crazy parties and wild situations that happen on college campuses?  Of course.  But, if anyone tells you they did most of the things in this movie, THEY'RE LYING TO YOU.

If you've ever enjoyed a movie like Hangover or American Pie, this one will be for you.  Maybe not the kind of movie you have to rush out to the theater to see but worth a rent for sure if you're looking for a laugh.
