A woman was sued by Luke Combs and lost the lawsuit to the tune of $250,000... without even knowing it!!
The country star's camp sued the fan for copyright infringement for making artist-themed tumblers and T-shirts and selling them. Her profit was less than $400. Nicol Harness is her name and she has been ordered by a judge to pay Luke $250,000.
Luke had no idea about the lawsuit and woke up to a frenzy of negative comments on social media. In a post on Instagram, he explained that the law exists to prevent large companies from making millions by illegally mass-producing counterfeit merchandise and that Nicole had been sucked into that. He goes on to say that he has spoken to the woman, who suffers from congestive heart failure, and apologized, but is sending her $11,000 to cover the money she is unable to access from Amazon. He also vowed to make tumblers and sell them on his site soon!
