Can New Administrator Turn Baltimore City Schools Around?

In October, a new interim State Superintendent of Schools was named. Carey Wright is taking over Maryland schools, at least temporarily. She has however stated that she's in it for the long haul. She was a top recruit for the position as she's spent decades working in and around schools as a teacher and administrator, and then a nine-year stint as chief of schools in Mississippi. It was then that she developed and lead a highly successful overhaul to the state's literacy instruction. of schools in Mississippi, where she was credited with leading a highly successful overhaul to literacy instruction.

Hmmmm... a highly successful overhaul to literacy instruction could be just what Baltimore needs!

Since the pandemic, students all over the country have suffered a severe blow to education, and Maryland specifically has been plagued with a sort of ugly reign of the last State Superintendent of Schools, Mohammed Choudhury that created a toxic environment for staff and lots of friction with state officials.

If you want to find out more about how Carey Wright was able to turn her districts around over a 10 year period while some Maryland schools continued to get worse and worse, CLICK HERE!

Good luck to Carey Wright and all of the educators who are desperately trying to help our next generation thrive!

City might need.
